Sometimes blog subscription emails stress me out because it's more mail in my inbox, and sometimes they're just the words I need to hear. This one came at a good time.

Jim and I had our engagement shoot last month, and as awkward as it was at times, it is so wonderful to have photos that showcase this little moment in our lives. Our talented photographer captured the time nicely. Some of my favorite shots are the ones of us in our house. We'll always remember this exciting time, and our first home together.
Wedding Planning
People aren't lying when they tell you it's hard to plan a wedding. I never really doubted it, but always told myself we'd keep it simple. And I'm learning simple is still hard. But I know it will be well worth it when we get to celebrate with the people we love.
Slowly but surely things are starting to come together and I can't help but focus on the fun design details - my favorite part of the planning.

Life changes
It's so cool to watch friends during this time of big life transitions as we enter our thirties. Some are buying houses, some are changing their careers, moving, breaking up (not so fun, but a change nonetheless), having babies and getting married. I love standing by to support them, and am grateful for the support they are giving us. This group of amazing folks hosted a very sweet engagement party for us. That's a first in my life and it was so great.
Long story short. Life changes are always better with friends.
2014
Happy new year! 2013 was amazing, with the most wonderful 30th birthday and proposal from my best friend. We have big plans for 2014 and I'm so excited.
I spent the holidays with my soon-to-be in-laws who are oh so wonderful. This means new traditions and a lot of cookies. A few snaps below from our lovely cookie making party.

Time at home with family fills my heart with joy and makes me oh so grateful. I love the holidays that bring us together and remind us to appreciate the important things.
